Mr. Michael M. Barch,
Chairman of the Board (Full Bio)
Michael M. Barch, Chairman of the Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing, has held senior management positions in medical corporations representing nearly every facet of healthcare.
Mr. Barch graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a joint degree in economics and finance. A year and a half after receiving a Master's in Health Services Administration from The George Washington University, he was named Chief Executive Officer of The George Washington University Medical Center (GWUMC). Just 28 years of age at the time, Mr. Barch was cited by U.S. News and World Report as the youngest CEO ever to lead a major academic medical center. During his 20-year tenure, the Medical Center rose to national prominence, developing a 300-physician group practice and a 100-member HMO. In 1991, GWUMC entered into an agreement with the Saudi Government to help them restructure their medical system. Mr. Barch brought online three hospitals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia under this agreement.
Mr. Barch took a year-long sabbatical from GWUMC in 1981 to serve on President Ronald Reagan's Grace Commission charged with improving the efficiency of the federal government. In this capacity, Mr. Barch was responsible for evaluating federal healthcare facilities and recommending reforms.
In 1992, Mr. Barch was named Assistant Vice President at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. There he created a 10-year strategic plan and helped guide the development of Johns Hopkins Health Care, a management service organization, and the Johns Hopkins Employee Health Plan, a managed care plan for self-insured private businesses.
In 1996, Mr. Barch was named President and CEO of Managed Care Assistance Corporation (MCAC), overseeing its two major divisions: Network/HMO Development and Health Care Consulting. Under his leadership, the Network/HMO division developed six statewide managed care networks and took HMOs from concept to operation in two additional states. Through contracts with private organizations and the Health Resources Services Administration, MCAC's Health Care Consulting division conducted market research and demand analysis, strategic and health services planning, and business plan development for primary care associations across the country.
Mr. Barch has also served as President and CEO of Columbia Hospital for Women and for the District of Columbia Health and Hospitals Public Benefit Corporation. He was the driving force behind a 1984 Robert Wood Johnson grant that resulted in the Health Care for the Homeless Project - now Unity Health Care, which operates 20 primary care clinics in the District of Columbia and a Medicaid HMO. Mr. Barch served as Chairman of the Board of Unity Health Care from 1985 until 1997.
Mr. Barch is currently Chairman of the Board of the Healthcare Council of the National Capital Area as well as Chair of National Capital Shared Services, the nation's thirteenth largest service organization. He is also a founder of Metastatin Pharmaceutical, a biopharmaceutical company developing anti-metastatic therapies.
Mr. David S. Moskowitz, RPH, MBA,

David Moskowitz, RPh., joined Caris & Company as a Managing Director of Healthcare Research at Caris and writes on the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Caris, Mr. Moskowitz was Group Head of Healthcare Research at FBR Capital Markets, where he led the build-out of FBR's healthcare research platform and provided coverage on the large cap pharmaceutical industry and select specialty pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Moskowitz also spent time at FBR in investment banking, rebuilding the healthcare team. Prior to FBR, he worked for UBS Warburg as a specialty pharmaceuticals analyst, and before that, he was a biotechnology analyst for Standard and Poor's. Mr. Moskowitz practiced as a registered pharmacist in various hospital and retail settings before entering the financial services industry.
Mr. Moskowitz received his B.S. in pharmacy from Rutgers University and his M.B.A. in finance and pharmaceutical industry studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Dr. Frederick R. Bieber, Ph.D.

Dr. Frederick Bieber is a Medical Geneticist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a consultant in pathology at Children's Hospital Boston and a consultant in pediatrics (teratology) at Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition, he is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Bieber received his B.A. from State University of New York, his M.S. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine (Anatomy/Genetics), and his Ph.D. from the Medical College of Virginia (Human Genetics). He was a Research Fellow in Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and a Research Fellow in Pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
From 1985 to 1991, Dr. Bieber was an Associate Geneticist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. He has also served as a Visiting Instructor and Tutor in Biology at Harvard University and as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY. Dr. Bieber is licensed by the American Board of Medical Genetics (medical genetics, clinical cytogenetics, and molecular genetics) and holds a certificate of qualification as laboratory director in cytogenetics, genetic testing, paternity/identity, and forensic/identity testing from the New York State Department of Health.
Dr. Bieber serves on the U.S. Department of Defense DNA Quality Assurance Oversight Committee and on the DNA Advisory Board of the FBI. From 2001-2003, he was a member of the World Trade Center Kinship and Data Analysis Panel, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner/NYC, U.S. Department of Justice. He received awards for his distinguished service on all three panels. In 2003, Dr. Bieber was appointed Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Governor's Council on Capital Punishment and a member of the Governor's Commission on Criminal Justice Innovation.
Dr. Bieber served on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Medical Genetics, Inc. from 2001-2003, and is currently a member of the Technical Working Group on Forensic Science of the U.S. Department of Justice.
Dr. Michael J. Manyak, M.D.

Dr. Michael J. Manyak is Vice President for Medical Affairs for Cytogen Corporation and Professor of Urology, Microbiology, and Tropical Medicine at The George Washington University Medical Center (GWUMC). His research interests include the expression and regulation of a protein that inhibits metastasis, monoclonal antibody use for detection of prostate cancer metastasis, surgical simulation with virtual reality, and other applications of medical biotechnology.
After completing his urological residency at GWUMC, Dr. Manyak became an American Foundation for Urological Disease Scholar at the National Cancer Institute and completed a fellowship in biotechnology. In 1988, he joined the urological staff at GWUMC, where he remained for 16 years, serving for the last nine of those years as Interim Chairman of the Department of Urology.
Dr. Manyak's medical corporate experience includes service on the scientific advisory board or as a consultant to more than 25 biomedical technology and pharmaceutical companies. In this capacity, he has been involved in business development, strategic planning for FDA approval of products, intellectual property development, protocol constructions, and clinical trials. He is a founder of Metastatin Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company developing anti-metastatic therapies.
Dr. Manyak served on the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a member of the Imaging Subcommittee. In addition, he received a presidential appointment to the National Kidney and Urological Disease Advisory Board. He is currently a voting member of the FDA Regulatory Panel for Genitourinary and Gastrointestinal Devices. Dr. Manyak served for five years as Chairman of the American Urological Association Technology Association (AUA) Council and on five other technology-related AUA committees. He has published nearly 200 professional abstracts, book chapters, and refereed journal articles.
Dr. Manyak was Managing Medical Editor of the nationally acclaimed Time-Life Medical Publications prostrate cancer educational video and the Medical Editor for the Public Broadcasting Corporation video Check It Out, which received the Creative Excellence Award at the US International Film and Video Festival and a National Media Owl Award. He is the Medical Editor for the Virtual Prostate website that received the Gold World Wide Web Health Award in 2004. He is also a urologic consultant to Mens Health Magazine and has made numerous appearances on national networks.
Dr. Manyak maintains an avid interest in field exploration and expedition medicine. He is a consultant to several journalists and members of the National Geographic Society, NPR Radio Expeditions, and USA Today for travel medical issues and is the urologic consultant to the Peace Corps. He is a founder and director of MED-GARD, Inc., which provides charitable medical services in remote underserved areas. Recently, Dr. Manyak was appointed by NASA to the Aerospace Medicine and Occupational Health Advisory Committee.
Dr. Robert Stillman,

Dr. Robert Stillman is a Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and Medical Director of Shady Grove Fertility Reproductive Science Center, with locations throughout the Washington, DC area. He joined the Center in 1997. Prior to that, Dr. Stillman was a tenured Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology, Fertility and IVF Programs at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, having joined the faculty in 1979. He now serves as a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Stillman was educated at Boston University (B.A., magna cum laude, 1969), Georgetown University (M.D., 1973), Duke University (residency, obstetrics and gynecology, 1973-77), and Harvard University (fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, 1977-79). He has held faculty and research positions at Harvard University, Children's Hospital National Medical Center and at the National Institutes of Health. He was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1979 (with voluntary recertification in 1991) and by the Board's Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in 1981. Dr. Stillman served as an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) from 1989-1998 and was one of the 12 National Examiners for oral subspecialty Board exams in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. While at George Washington University, Dr. Stillman was Director of one of 47 nationally ABOG-certified training programs in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Dr. Stillman has been nationally and internationally prominent in clinic infertility and academic reproductive endocrinology. He was named the top doctor in the National Capital Area for infertility by Washingtonian magazine, one of the 16 top infertility doctors nationwide by American Health, and one of the nation's best doctors for women by Good Housekeeping. He is a past president of the Washington Gynecological Society and served twice on the editorial board of Fertility and Sterility. He continues to serve as an ad hoc editor on numerous medical journals.
Dr. Stillman was selected as General Program Chairman of the Conjoint Meeting of the American Fertility Society and the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society. He has also served on the Board of Directors of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association for the Washington, DC area. Dr. Stillman has been an invited lecturer for physician post-graduate training courses and a visiting professor at universities nationally and internationally. He was elected to and served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
Mr. Hal Stern,

Hal Stern is President of Financial Health Strategies, Inc., a health care receivable management organization representing hospitals and physician practices in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
After receiving his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in 1975, Mr. Stern spent eight years in private practice in metropolitan Washington, DC, specializing in creditors' rights litigation and subrogation recovery.
From 1983 to 1988, Mr. Stern was a partner in the firm of Hayt, Hayt & Landau, where he established and managed the law firm's metro Washington, DC office. In that capacity, he focused on health care receivable management, served as Special Counsel to the (Virginia) Commonwealth Attorney General's Office, and represented 17 state and two private student loan guarantee agencies.
From 1988 to 1996, Mr. Stern was Regional Vice President for HHL Services, where he had full P&L responsibility for a region that, at various times, spanned states from New Jersey to North Carolina and west to Illinois - including 12 offices with 300 employees and more than 200 clients.
Mr. Stern is a member of the District of Columbia bar and the Maryland bar.
Ms. Lisa Ensz,

Lisa M. Ensz is the Global Carotid Market & Business Development Manager for Boston Scientific Corporation. In this role, she is responsible for driving growth and adoption of carotid stenting, a minimally invasive alternative to the current standard of care. Through reimbursement advocacy, physician training, and practice development, she works to increase the size of the market and speed adoption of the procedure by patients, physicians, and payors.
After obtaining a master's in public health with a focus on health policy and management from The Johns Hopkins University, Ms. Ensz worked Managed Care Assistance Corporation (MCAC), a small health care startup. Through an MCAC contract with the Health Resources and Services Administration, she conducted statewide market analyses and provided strategic recommendations to 16 primary care associations across the nation. Also while at MCAC, Ms. Ensz played an integral role in designing and setting up the infrastructure for a nationwide network of HMOs. She helped plan, organize, and implement the full spectrum of HMO services, including member services, benefit management, utilization management, marketing, and information and financial systems.
Ms. Ensz subsequently served as Director of Marketing & Government Relations for a Florida-based health plan. In this capacity, she directed all sales, marketing, and membership retention activities and worked closely with network development to expand the sales territory.
Ms. Ensz has extensive experience in e-marketing and web-based strategy with pharmaceutical companies. As Senior Strategist for Cyveillance, a leading provider of online risk monitoring and management services, she devised client-focused custom solutions that helped pharmaceutical companies identify non-compliant distribution partners, counterfeit products being distributed online, and gray market product distribution.
Ms. Ensz also holds a master's in business administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Jesse M. Kessler is the Founder of Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing. Over the past 11 years, Mr. Kessler has served as the president and CEO of several successful companies. At just 20 years old, before graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Business Administration, Mr. Kessler founded a marketing company, Twilight Promotions, which was acquired six years from its inception. Subsequently, he served as a consultant for many pharmaceutical companies and founded Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing in 2004. Additionally, he is President and CEO of Universal Wines & Spirits, a successful wine and spirits import and distribution company. Mr. Kessler’s extensive experience managing successful companies brings progressive leadership skills to GPS that is second to none in the industry. Mr. Kessler’s unique leadership skills have propelled each of his flourishing businesses to benchmark industry growth standards.
Mr. Wayne Thompson,

Wayne Thompson comes to GPS with over 30 years of extensive industry experience in sales, marketing, operations and business development. In addition to serving 23 years at Baxter Healthcare, a $10.4 billion global healthcare corporation, Mr. Thompson has also held several leading industry positions including: Vice President of Integrated Solutions in the mid-south for Cardinal Health; the President of Health Systems Integration at Amerinet, Inc., a group purchasing organization with more then $6 billion dollars in total annual purchase volume; President and CEO of Joint Purchasing Corporation, a regional not-for-profit healthcare services company where Thompson was the architect of the Amerinet transaction; and the President and COO of Konica Corporation’s US subsidiary, Konica Medical Imaging, Inc, over $100 million medical imaging and image distribution company.
Mr. Thompson’s diverse and wide-ranging healthcare industry background provides an incomparable vantage point from which to assess and develop GPS. His extensive knowledge of operations, strategic planning and corporate sales, marketing, and new business development gives valuable insights into the nation’s healthcare market place. At his position at Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing, as President & COO, he will be responsible for the development of GPS’s various advancements into the pharmaceutical and biological markets.
Wayne brings tremendous experience to the GPS team. His years of healthcare experience will serve to add an essential ingredient to managing the direction of our growing company. Equipped with an outstanding leadership team, GPS is poised to be a major influence in overcoming the various challenges facing the healthcare industry.
Thompson has held positions on a number of Boards. He has maintained his position on the Board of Joint Purchasing Corporation. He is also a long time Board Member of the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA), which made him the first recipient of the HIGPA Chairman’s Award in 2002. The award recognizes outstanding service to the Association and the purchasing industry.
Wayne Thompson received both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Western Illinois University.

As Senior Vice President for Technology, Hani Eshack manages and directs the organization toward its primary technological and business objectives. He also oversees the development of innovative technologies to further strengthen the position of Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing in the market place.
Prior to joining GPS, Mr. Eshack served as the Director of Information Technology for CDM for more than 10 years. CDM is one of the top government contractors in the nation. In his capacity as Director of IT, Mr Eshack was responsible for the successful completion of several high profile projects within the federal government. During his time, Mr. Eshack worked with the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Interior amongst others. Additionally, Mr. Eshack brings to GPS more than 25 years of experience in the information technology and telecommunications field.
Mr. Paul “Chip” Kurt,

Chip brings over 23 years of experience in sales, marketing, recruiting, training and national account management with a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical manufacturer. Throughout his career Chip has acquired unique perspectives on the sales and marketing of branded pharmaceuticals, which are now being applied to the distribution side of the business. Prior to joining GPS, Chip’s most recent position was Director, Hospital National Accounts for the Merck/Schering Plough Joint Venture. Previous positions included National Account Executive, Hospital Business Manager and Manager, National Sales Recruiting, all with Merck & Co.

With over 10 years of senior sales position experience he has developed an experienced and competent sales force for the company. Prior to joining GPS, he was the Senior Corporate Recruiter and Sales Executive of Spherion Technology Architects, a Business Developer for Foxhunt Staffing Inc. and a top ranked Senior Sales Executive for Yahoo! Patrick Boyd is the Vice President of Purchasing at Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing (GPS). He began his purchasing career at Columbia Hospital for Women under Michael Barch, GPS Chairman of the Board. In 2004, Patrick was able to utilize his extensive knowledge to help co-found Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing. On the purchasing side of the company he has maximized vendor contracts and decreased GPS costs consistently. Patrick has coordinated 4 shipping locations and developed detailed logistics operations to ensure GPS’s continued success.
Mr. Paul Rosell,

Paul Rosell is currently the Director of Sales for Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing (GPS). He previously served as the Regional Sales Manager for GPS in the Miami office. Mr. Rosell has sixteen years of extensive sales and managing experience. He came to GPS from BioMed Plus where he served as a sales representative and sales manager. For two consecutive years he was the top ranked sales representative at BioMed which earned him his promotion into management. As sales manager, his team boasted the highest grossing profit awarding them Team of the Year for two years running. Prior to his BioMed career, Paul gained additional expertise as a general operations manager at DHL.
